Based on a Sahitya Akademi award-winning novel of 2004 by Sadanand Deshmukh, BAROMĀS (meaning Twelve enduring months) presents a gripping tale of a farmer's family and the hopeless state of rural youth in contemporary India. Deeply rooted in the Indian soil, Baromas is a representative story of Indian farming with its harsh uncertainities, capturing the trials and tribulations of the self-righteous yet flawed (Tanpure) brothers with near-perfect realism until the tragic inevitability of the plot breaks up the family irredeemably.
